Greying of wood is caused by exposure to Ultraviolet (UV) rays from the sun. The same UV rays that cause damage to human skin, cause the degradation of wood fibres, resulting in the breakdown of the structure. One of the early signs of this breakdown is the greying of the surface of the wood. Coating the wood with a UV blocking sealer / stain is the only way to prevent the harmful actions of the sun. We use UV protective sealers in order to ensure the protection of your wooden structures.
