Region-Wide Questions
Which areas do you actually serve?
We service the Greater Toronto Area and surrounding region, and have done for over 15 years. That includes Toronto itself — Scarborough, North York, Etobicoke and the core — along with Vaughan, Woodbridge, Richmond Hill, Markham, Stouffville, Mississauga, Oakville, Pickering, Ajax and Whitby.
Do you charge more to travel further out?
Get in touch for a quote on your specific property. Quotes are free and there's no obligation, and we'll be straight with you about what a job involves before any work is booked. All expenses and details are discussed up front so there's no mystery in the process.
What surfaces do you work on?
- Wood — decks, fencing, pergolas, sheds and other exterior wooden structures
- Interlock — driveways, walkways, patios and retaining walls
- Natural stone and pattern concrete
- Garage and warehouse floors, including epoxy coatings
- Commercial — low-rise exteriors, underground parking garages, gum and graffiti removal, stucco
Is it worth doing at all, or does it just look nicer?
Both, but the protective side is the real argument. Sealing prevents warping and greying on wood, protects against UV damage, mould, mildew and fungus, and on stone and concrete it prevents the pitting and break-up that comes from salt damage and our freeze-and-thaw winters. It also makes surfaces far easier to clean and maintain, and it's frequently recommended by real estate agents as part of preparing a property for sale.
How long does the protection last?
For wood, one to five years on horizontal surfaces like deck boards and up to ten years on vertical surfaces like fencing. For interlock, natural stone and pattern concrete, plan on resealing every two to three years. Sun exposure, air flow, overhanging trees, foot and vehicle traffic, precipitation and seasonal cycles all shift those figures.
Are your products safe for children, pets and the garden?
We use only environmentally sensitive cleaning and sealing products, and our procedures are aimed at minimising waste and keeping chemicals out of the ground. Sealing wood also has a safety benefit of its own: it seals in the copper sulphates and arsenic used to pressure-treat lumber, which can irritate skin, particularly for children and people with respiratory problems.
Do you guarantee the work?
Yes. We hold an A+ rating with the Better Business Bureau, we're WSIB and CSPAAT compliant, and we guarantee our work. You can read unsolicited feedback on our testimonials page.
Do you do commercial as well as residential?
Both, and at any scale. Our clients have ranged from individual homeowners to the Toronto Transit Commission, McDonald's, Mr. Sub, Jack Astor's, York University, and housing developers including Aspen Ridge, Tribute, Mattamy, Great Gulf and Country Wide Homes.
